Mayor Menino Thanks Painters and Community Partners
Boston Mayor Tom Menino (shown above with 1st year painting apprentices) was full of praise for DC 35 and its community partners for successfully completing the re-paint of the Washington Irving School in Roslindale and Madison Park High School in Roxbury during the summer. The Mayor attended a celebration held by Community Labor United on December 4th at which he was given an award for his role in encouraging the partnership on the two jobs. Area residents were recruited with help from a variety of community groups, and the DC 35 Training Department referred successful candidates to the two projects. DC 35 also received an award for its commitment to the program.
