DC #35 Endorsed Municipal Candidates Have Strong Election Day Results

Candidates endorsed by District Council #35 for Mayor, City Council and Boards of Aldermen did well on Election Day in Massachusetts. DC #35 endorsed candidates Setti Warren (Newton) and Joe O'Brien (Worcester) swept to victory in open seat races, and Will Flanagan (Fall River) won the final after defeating the incumbent in the preliminary.

President Williams updated the Delegates and Local Union Officers (who were also invited to the meeting) on the current IUPAT national agenda and answered members questions.

DC 35 Mourns Passing of United States Senator Edward Kennedy

District Council 35 Business Manager Jeff Sullivan joined thousands of other labor leaders and union members in mourning the passing of Senator Ted Kennedy.  "On behalf of the membership of District Council 35 I extend our deepest sympathies to the Kennedy family.  Senator Kennedy was our most reliable ally and a true friend of this organization.  Over the years he has helped our union and our members in ways that can't be quantified.  He will be sorely missed." Sullivan said.
